 FLEURINE's MIDSUMMERNIGHT at CONCERTGEBOUW in AMSTERDAM
July 30th 2005 Fleurine will be playing a special evening of her music at
the wonderful CONCERTGEBOUW , in Amsterdam (Grote Zaal) featuring BRAD MEHLDAU, and presenting a program collaborating with special guests among which, for the first time the GUSTAV
KLIMT STRING QUARTET. She will perform one set with her band featuring Jesse van Ruller , Johan Plomp and Sebastiaan Kaptein and one
set with Brad Mehldau and Strings. Guest Jose Lopretti will be featured on melodica.
Mehldau will be writing new string arrangments especially for this occasion.

DECEMBER IN New York
Fleurine is coming to the Netherlands for a theatertour in November with a new addition to the band: special guest Esther Apituley on
viola. They will be performing in Utrecht, Amsterdam , Leeuwarden , Austerlitz and Den Haag. NOTE: the DATE in DEN HAAG has been CHANGED into November 21st

 Fleurine will be coming to Europe to perform at the North Sea
Jazz Festival in The Hague, Netherlands on Sunday July 11th at 17.30 in the beautiful Van Gogh-zaal.

flights to Amsterdam, in June, July and August.

The new album: FIRE
 For her new release, "Fire", Fleurine collaborated with producer Robert
Sadin, who recently produced Herbie Hancock's Grammy winning "Gershwin's World" with Stevie Wonder and Joni Mitchell, and Wayne
Shorter's latest release "Alegria". Sadin has also conducted, arranged and produced for a wide range of leading artists, including Kathleen Battle,
Wynton Marsalis, Milton Nascimento, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and the New York Philharmonic. Sadin was so enthusiastic about Fleurine's previous
recordings that he offered to produce her next album. Fleurine was thrilled to work with Sadin and their musical chemistry brought forth an exceptional album.
Fleurine continues to be bold and original, this time arranging famous pop hits by Peter Frampton, Bruce
Springsteen, Nick Drake, Paul Simon and The Pretenders in a jazz context, while at the same time
reinterpreting a Gabriel Fauré's classic sung in French, showcasing that jazz has no limits. Her great love for
Brazilian grooves and language, always present on all of Fleurine's albums is featured on the title track "Fire", as well as on two brand new Brazilian originals and one classic Jobim.
The album features top players from two continents; New York's finest -drummer Jeff Ballard, saxophonist Seamus Blake, accordionist Gil Goldstein, pianist Brad Mehldau and guitarist Peter Bernstein,
and from Europe, Fleurine's treasured band-members of 10 years: Holland's premier guitarist Jesse van Ruller and Dutch bass ace Johan Plomp. With "Fire" Fleurine continues to create her own unique niche in
the world of jazz.

Tien jaar geleden begon Fleurine haar band met gitarist Jesse van Ruller en bassist Johan Plomp.Het begon als een kwintet
met pianist Stefan Schmid (inmiddels ZUCO 103), drumgigant John Engels en saxofonist Ben van den Dungen . Na 4 jaar gingen ze verder als Fleurine Plus Two en sinds 2002 zijn ze
versterkt met drummer Sebastiaan Kaptein.
 Fleurine bleek een van de meest succesvolle vocalisten van haar
generatie.Op Donderdag 8 Januari komen uiteenlopende gasten met wie Fleurine de afgelopen 10 jaar samenspeelden het concert-feest opluisteren, o.a. pianist Brad Mehldau, Ben van
den Dungen, John Engels en componist/bassist José Lopretti, die voor meerdere albums materiaal leverde. Van de
hardbop van hun debuut CD"Meant to be!"( het bestverkochte jazz album in Nederland in de jaren 90) tot het gloednieuwe
materiaal van hun zeer lovend ontvangen recente release"FIRE"( zie reviews), Fleurine en haar band staan garant voor een afwisselend en avontuurlijk programma. Niet missen dus!
